About Our Musicians
Susan Platt
Since moving to Milwaukee in 1985, soprano Susan Platt has sung with a number of varied musical groups including the Bel Canto Choral Artists, the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus, the Milwaukee Symphony Chamber Chorus, and Present Music. Ms Platt has also appeared as soloist with the Bach chamber Choir, Plymouth Chorale, Great Lakes Opera and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, performing in works by composers ranging from Andriessen and Reich to Mozart, Bach and Handel. She is currently performing a program of acapella chant (both Gregorian, Ambrosian, and that by Hildegard von Bingen) in various Milwaukee locations. Gus Barnes Jr.
A devout Lutheran since the age of 9, Gus Barnes, Jr. currently serves on the Greater Milwaukee Synod Council as well as a third returning delegate to the Church-wide Assembly in the summer of 2011. Gus is currently a member of The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation-Milwaukee with ties with First Lutheran and Nativity Lutheran of the Greater Milwaukee Synod. Gus has a passion for worship and caring for those that society has forgotten. Gus and Dennis have worked together for over 25years. Gus has studied voice at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music as well with local vocal coaches. He strongly believes that when one sings, they are doubly praying to God!
Jim Stoebe
Jim Stoebe has been organist at Incarnation Lutheran Church since mid-1987. Previously he was fill organist at Reformation Lutheran from the late 1970’s until 1987. Jim is currently a member of Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, Organ Historical Society, and the American Guild of Organists-Milwaukee Chapter as well as serving as organist at The Humphrey Masonic Center (Scottish Rite).
Incarnation Lutheran Church is the last Milwaukee Inner City Lutheran Church that uses their pipe organ every Sunday for worship services.
Dennis Jon Wolfgang
Dennis Jon Wolfgang is honored to have been named Director of Music and Organist at both, First Lutheran Church, West Allis, and Nativity Lutheran Church, Wauwatosa and ferveretily hopes to conclude his long career serving both of them. Previously he served as Director of Music/Organist at Milwaukee’s historic Basilica of St. Josaphat, as well as numerous other Lutheran and Catholic Churches. Dennis had the distinct privilege of working with the renowned Lutheran Preacher and Evangelist, Rev. Mick Roschke at a previous position. In June of 1998 he played the dedicatory concert on the new pipe organ in the “Our Lady of the Sioux Chapel of St. Joseph’s School for Indian Children in Chamberlain, South Dakota. Dennis has maintained a busy schedule as a performer having performed concerts at: The Basilica, Gesu Church and Calvary UMC in Milwaukee and Shepherd of the Hills and Church of the Transfiguration in the greater Los Angeles area, as well as other churches in southeastern Wisconsin. He has also played the Miller Concert Organ in Milwaukee’s Uihlein Hall for a national convention. Dennis loves gardening and life with his two cats, Clare Cecilia and Ambrose Nicholas.
